Hear from our CEO, Andy Armitage…

19 February 2024

As we reach mid-February it’s been an action-packed start to 2024. Here’s a quick recap of what’s been happening…

We kicked off the year with our first monthly Strategic Advisor meeting. Our Strategic Advisors work with us to provide insight into the unique challenges the NHS faces, and support us in seeking out innovative solutions, developing new technologies, and providing expertise to drive efficiency and excellence across ICSs. Meeting with them is crucial for hearing from the NHS first-hand and shaping our plans for 2024, and we’re grateful to have them along on the journey.

We’ve also recently seen the launch of NHS Emeritus. This fantastic initiative connects retired or partially-retired consultants with NHS providers, with a clear mission – to address the challenges of outpatient appointment wait times. The Emeritus programme gives consultants the flexibility to work from any location in the UK and the opportunity to contribute to elective recovery efforts by providing support when it is needed most across the NHS. You can find out more about NHS Emeritus here.

In the past couple of weeks, we’ve also completed the acquisition of Infinity Health Limited, the clinical task management and pathway automation specialists. We’ve been partnering with them for a number of years to deliver leading solutions, from supporting the NHS through staff testing during the Covid-19 pandemic, to reducing outpatient demand.

Looking ahead in February, I’m excited to be heading to Seattle for the HFMA NHS Finance Leadership study tour at the Virginia Mason Institute. The Institute has repeatedly been named as a top hospital in the US, and the tour presents a fantastic opportunity to learn from their success and understand why the Institute has excelled.

With that, it looks like things won’t be slowing down just yet, and March is sure to be another busy month!
