31 July 2025

On the 30th July 2025, Liaison Group completed the acquisition of Foresight, an innovative demand-planning technology company that has been part of our portfolio since 2019.

A partnership built on success

Liaison’s journey with Foresight began when their groundbreaking approach to unique workforce demand-planning caught our attention. What started as an investment opportunity quickly evolved into something much more meaningful – a true partnership built on shared vision.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of providing not just capital, but strategic guidance to help Foresight navigate the complex worlds of start-up growth and scale-up challenges. The team at Foresight has consistently impressed us with their innovation, dedication, and ability to deliver real value to their customers.

For example, at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, the use of Foresight’s platform as part of Liaison Workforce’s People Planning solution led to cost saving opportunities of £410,000 in the first phase, through the identification of performance concerns and flight risks. The quarterly review also discovered 2,652 cases of upskilling required across teams, leading to an overall raise in productivity and wellbeing.

Hear from Chris Rowe, Head of Talent Acquisition at DHU Healthcare, about how Foresight influenced their people and culture:

Foresight is single-handedly the best investment in technology I’ve made in years as a talent acquisition leader. Our Exec team absolutely love the process, the data and the results. They all take part in it as managers too, so they get the full experience. What surprised me is that they see this as much more than a Workforce Planning tool or process. They told me that they see it as a way to drive a people and culture revolution here at DHU. It gives us all an insight into almost every strategic initiative we need to do from an HR perspective.

Driving innovation in healthcare

Foresight’s ability to provide invaluable recruitment and performance data across every employee in an organisation not only saves significant agency costs and reduces premium pay spend, but also improves productivity and relationships between HR and the areas they support.

In a Trust in North West England, Foresight’s data helped to identify 126 wellbeing concerns, from 61 managers, in a quarterly People Planning review. The value of this data is that it is not replacing conversations, but capturing the information that leads to more meaningful ones.

This acquisition represents a significant step forward in our mission to drive innovation and cost savings within the healthcare market. Foresight’s cutting-edge demand-planning solutions will enhance our ability to serve the NHS, helping them optimise their operations and improve patient outcomes while reducing costs.

Vanessa Forster, Managing Partner for Liaison Workforce, says:

This strategic investment enables us to continue to lead the way in workforce innovations, and we’re pleased to help drive Foresight forward as part of Liaison. The NHS will benefit from such innovations and we’re excited to use the technology to transform healthcare, and deliver savings and efficiencies.

Looking forward

As we integrate Foresight into the Liaison Group family, we’re excited about the opportunities ahead. This acquisition strengthens our position in the healthcare market and provides us with enhanced capabilities to serve the NHS’s evolving needs.

The journey that brought us to this point has been remarkable, and we’re proud to continue building on the foundation that Foresight has established. Together, we’ll drive forward our shared mission of delivering innovative solutions that make real transformation in healthcare.
